In today's world of search, we see an increasing push for links to increase link popularity as well as page rank. You will notice when looking at SEO proposals, we have seemingly gone back to a quantity mentality as opposed to what really works. 200, 300, 400 links included in the price of optimization. Now I will get on my soap box........
First of all, if your site is new and has no history.........will it look natural if you go live with 200 backlinks?....highly doubtful. Google has years of data to determine what is natural for multiple types of sites.

This allows you to rank for keywords that are relevant to your company's business thereby increasing your visibility.
